With a Manual Transfer Switch, an operator must make the transfer by manually throwing the switch. Manual transfer switches allow portable generator owners a way to power existing electrical circuits in a home or office. There are no required extension cords with an MTS, meaning less clutter and hassle on installation and during use, providing a high level of safety and comfort.

Instead of running a power cord from the generator to power individual plug-in appliances, installing a MTS next to the main circuit panel permits the owner to start up a generator and restore power to pre-designated, critical circuits when utility power is no longer available. Suitable for residential and light commercial applications, they are a simple way to provide owners with a high level of safety and comfort.

An Automatic Transfer Switch provides all the features of an MTS, and then some. It is installed where a back-up generator is located. It allows the generator to provide temporary electrical power if/when the utility source fails.

An Automatic Transfer Switch is an essential part of the power generation process, allowing for a smooth and immediate transfer of electrical current between multiple sources and the load. Automatic transfer switches can detect if there is any loss of power and automatically starts the generator and switches from utility power to generator power.
